The national Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Wednesday a yellow code warning for heat wave for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with high thermal discomfort in southern Moldavia, Dobrogea, Muntenia and Oltenia regions. The code warning targets 21 counties including Bucharest.
The temperatures will reach 35 degrees Celsius and in some places 37C.
“The nights will become tropical, with lows above 20C. Thermal discomfort will be high, while the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. In the mountainous regions atmospheric instability will be high on temporary basis, especially during the afternoons, with torrential rain falls, high winds and isolated hail,” the ANM release informs.
