The Bucharest Stock Exchange gained over 7 billion lei in capitalization last week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) gained over 7.09 billion lei in capitalization this week, while the value of share transactions decreased by 132.58 million lei compared to the previous week, according to data published by the BVB.
From January 22 to 26, there were only four trading sessions, with January 24 being declared a day off, compared to five sessions in the week of January 26 to February 2, 2024.
This week, the stock market capitalization reached 305.23 billion lei, increasing by 2.4% compared to the value recorded in the previous period, of 298.14 billion lei.
Stock transactions generated a turnover of 477.48 million lei between January 26 and February 2, 2024, registering a decrease of almost 22% compared to the 610.07 million lei reported a week ago.
The best trading day at BVB was Tuesday, January 30, when a turnover of 183.96 million lei was recorded, and the worst day, Wednesday, January 31, with a transaction value of 25.94 million lei lei.
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – BET – closed the week at 15,640.73 points.
Hidroelectrica shares were this week the most liquid securities on the main segment of BVB, with transactions of 284.24 million lei, registering a price increase of 5.87%.
In the top of transactions are also OMV Petrom titles, with transactions of 54.74 million lei (+4.91%) and Banca Transilvania, with 22.43 million lei (+3.45%).
The most important increases in quotations were recorded by the shares of COMCM Constanţa (+98.37%), Compania Energopetrol (+14.20%) and those of Aquila Part Prod Com (+7.84%).
At the opposite pole, important decreases were recorded by the shares of UCM Reşita, with a decline of 18.92%, followed by those of the company Socep SA (-8%) and those of the company Şantierul Naval Orşova SA (-6.09%).
