Renault names new French chief of Vehicule Dacia plant

Renault group appointed French Cristophe Dridi, aged 47, at the helm at the Vehicule Dacia plant in Mioveni starting October 1st, the carmaker informed in a press statement on Friday.

Dridi replaces Romanian Cornel Olendraru who has been promoted Renault regional chief. Olendraru will take over the position of industrial manager for Eurasia, responsible for the industrial and logistics performance of the Renault Group in Romania, Turkey and Russia.

Cornel Olendraru has been head of the Vehicule Dacia plant since 2013 and has also run the fabrication department during 2010-2013.

Cristophe Dridi has a 23-year experience within Renault group and at Nissan and will be in charge of the production of the Dacia models, which involves 7,200 employees.

Dridi is currently working as production manager at the plant in Casablanca, Morocco since 2009. He worked previously at the Tanger factory.

Located on the industrial platform in Mioveni, Arges county, Vehicule Dacia Plant provides production of the Logan, Logan MCV, Sandero Sandero Stepway and Duster models, but also of the Renault Symbol.

The plant’s maximum capacity is 350,000 units per year, which means that a car is leaving the factory’s assembly line in less than a minute.
