France sends as ambassador to Romania an expert in fighting corruption and money laundering

French President Francois Hollande, close to the end of his mandate, has made a series of appointments of new ambassadors, including in Romania. Thus, the future French ambassador to Bucharest will be Michele Ramis, a career diplomat, specialized in transnational crime.

Michele Ramis has the rank of Plenipotentiary Minister. She will replace Francois Saint-Paul in Bucharest, who has been called by the French Foreign Ministry, hotnews.ro reports.

Michele Ramis is Ambassador in charge of cross-border criminal threats since January 2013 and is participating in the fight against corruption and money laundering, according to her profile on the website of the French Foreign Ministry. Previously, she served as French ambassador to Guatemala and had positions both in the French Foreign Ministry and in the embassies in Colombia and Mexico. Shee has also been Deputy Permanent Representative of France to international organizations based in Vienna. During 2011-2012 she was a diplomatic advisor to the Defence Minister.

Michele Ramis is licensed in law, criminal science and criminology and graduated the Institute of Political Studies (Paris).

She is a knight of the Legion of Honour and officer of the National Order for Merit, decorations of the French State.
