Praxis Antique and Medieval Association hosts between October 30 – November 21 the 9th edition of The Early Music Festival, the most important early music event in South Eastern Europe.
Romanian musicians and dancers, next to guests from France and Spain, well grounded in early music interpretative technique, will revive music during Renaissance and Baroque.
‘Rameau – Le Musicien du Roi’ opens this year’s edition on 30 October next to Early Music Ensemble Gli Studiosi di Sebastiano (Bucharest) and a group of dancers from The Medieval and Baroque Ensemble (Cluj). The artist will be performing in The Cotroceni Union Hall from 19:00.
The second concert: ‘Rameau – 250’, Raluca Enea, harpsichordist, will perform on November 13th at the Anglican Church, starting 19:00. Her repertoire includes selections from ‘Pièces de Clavecin en Concerts’ (1741) and ‘Les Indes Galantes’.
A solo performance ‘Par mes Chants’ by Marco Horvat, France, voice, theorbo and baroque guitar follows at the Cotroceni National Museum on November 19th at 19:00.
‘Musicas Para la Camara de Isabel de Castilla’, performed by The Early Music Ensemble, Cinco Siglos and soprano Delia Agúndez, Spain, will close the festival on November 21st , at 19:00 in Bragadiru Palace.
Among the artist mentioned above, will perform : Hopkinson Smith ( lute, theorbo, USA/Switzerland), Marcel Ponseele (baroque oboe, Belgium ), Jan de Winne (flauto traverso, Belgium), Hervé Douchy (baroque cello, Belgium), Ketil Hausand (harpsichord, Norway), next to Romanians artists, Raluca Enea (harpsichord), Dorel Iuga (flauto traverso), Melinda Béres ( violone), Soma Salat-Zakarias (viola da gamba), Csilla Juhazs, Tamas Tóth (corporal movement), Harry Tavitian (jazz) etc.
