Top WTA year-end rankings – Halep on first position

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep ranks first in the WTA rankings released on Monday, while Irina Begu climbed to the 43rd place.

Sorana Cîrstea (37th), Mihaela Buzărnescu (72nd) and Monica Niculescu (100th) hold their rankings since last week.

CoCo Vandeweghe has entered the top 10 for the first time, after the WTA Elite Trophy final, while title winner Julia Goerges is the 14th, the best position in her career.

In the doubles, the situation is unchanged for Romanians, Monica Niculescu is on 23rd, Raluca Olaru on 36th and Irina Begu on 38th.
