Update: Simona Halep returns to the country, falls to second position in WTA rankings

Romanian tennis player, Simona Halep, has returned to Bucharest on Monday, after the Australian Open, being greeted at the airport with flowers by her father and by dozens of fans who chanted her name.

Halep answered only three questions asked by journalists, ziare.com reports.

“Caroline played very well, she deserved to win. I am exhausted, I have to conduct several tests about the injuries. Of course I was sad for losing the final, but life goes on, it’s just a tennis match and I hope the next final I will reach to be for me. Thank you,” Simona Halep said.

Simona Halep lost the Australian Open final on Saturday against Caroline Wozniacki 6-7 (2), 6-3, 4-6.
