Military drills at the Black Sea: More than 1,500 soldiers, 17 ships and MiG 21 LanceR aircraft

More than 1,500 soldiers will participate during March 5-13 to the multinational military exercise ‘Poseidon 2017’ in Romanian territorial waters and in international waters in the western part of the Black Sea, the Romanian Navy informs.

The Centre for Exercises Coordination in the Black Sea will coordinate the drills that will involve 17 warships, a Puma helicopter and two fast ships. In order to create a complex environment, two MiG 21 LanceR aircraft and a Coast Guard vessel will join the exercise,” a press release from the Romanian Navy reads.

It is the second multinational exercise organized by the Romanian Naval Forces this year.
