Tennis: Simona Halep up to 4th in WTA rankings

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has climbed to the 4th position in the WTA rankings released on Monday.

On the first positions are Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova. Halep is 259 points ahead of the next position, Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia).

Irina Begu has climbed four positions to the 29th, following the semi-final played in Istanbul, whereas Monica Niculescu has fallen one step to the 48th. Sorana Cirstea is on 64th (up two positions) and Patricia Tig is on 88th (down one position).

In the doubles, Monica Niculescu ranks 24th, Raluca Olaru is on the 60th position.

In the rankings for the road to Singapore, Simona Halep ranks now on the 27th position.
