Men’s handball: Romania defeated by Macedonia 32-24 in World Championship play-off

Romania’s men’s handball national team was defeated by Macedonia 32-24 (15-10) on Sunday in Skopje in the first match of the 2019 Men’s Handball World Championship play-off.

The goals of the Romanian team, coached by Spaniard Xavi Pascual, were scored by Dan Racoţea 6, Valentin Ghionea 4, Alin Roşu 3, Demis Grigoraş 2, Marius Sadoveac 2, Alex Csepreghi 2, Javier Humet 1, Viorel Fotache 1, Marius Mocanu 1, Ionuţ Ramba 1, Adrian Rotaru 1.

For Macedonia, Kiril Lazarov scored 8 goals, Dejan Manaskov 6, Stojan Stoilov 3, Filip Taleski 3, Filip Mirkulovski 3, Goce Georgievski 3, Filip Kuzmanovski 3, Zarko Pesevski 2, Martin Popovski 1.

The second leg of the play-off will be played on June 13, in Cluj-Napoca.
