Investigations on killing nightclub fire concluded. 147 persons heard. Ex-District 4 mayor Piedone heard at DNA

The Prosecutor’s Office upon the Supreme Court informed on Friday the investigation regarding the fire burst at the ‘Colectiv’ nightclub in Bucharest has been concluded. 147 persons, witnesses and injured persons have been heard this week, while on Friday prosecutors conducting seven searches in Bucharest and Giurgiu county.

Also on Friday afternoon, former District 4 mayor, Cristian Popescu Piedone has been brought by warrant at the National Anti-corruption Directorate to be heard in the same file. He is targeted for abuse of office charges regarding the nightclub’s operating permit, along with other clerks of the district city hall.

Soon after the former mayor has arrived at DNA, other two ladies working at the District 4 city hall has been brought for hearings. They are working at the department dealing with the operating permits for the private companies.

Earlier on Friday, the anti-corruption prosecutors have seized documents from several public institutions in Bucharest, among which District 4 City Hall and the Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for the Emergency Situations.
