Patrimony items of the Peles Castle, at risk

The patrimony items from the Peles Castle, that the Royal House rented to the Culture Ministry, risk to degrade themselves because of the condensation, considering that the castle is not heated after the heater had broken.

The Culture Ministry, which is paying a RON 50,000 per month for the castle, claims that the owner is the one that is compelled to make the capital repairs, while the ministry has to take care of the common repairs.

According to the Peles Museum’s spokesperson, Dana Voitescu, the heater of the castle, installed 27 years ago, broke one month ago and cannot bear any repairs.

The museum’s official says that there are around 5C inside the castle at present and so, the patrimony items can be damaged due to the condensation produced by the visitors’ breath.

Last year, 415,000 tourists visited the museum of the Peles Castle.
