Two quakes jolt Vrancea region Tuesday morning

Two earthquakes have jolted Vrancea region, eastern Romania, Tuesday morning.

The second one was bigger, of 3.3 degrees on Richter scale, occurred at 11.04h at a depth of 120 kilometers, the National Institute for Earth Physics Research-Development (INCDFP) informs.

The closest towns were Nehoiu (46 km), Covasna (48 km), Slănic-Moldova (51 km), Odobeşti (52 km) and Oneşti (54 km).

The first quake on Tuesday was registered at 4.26h, with a magnitude of 3.1 degrees on Richter scale, also in Vrancea County.

The biggest earthquake this year had 4.1 degrees on Richter scale and took place on January 9, in Buzau County.
