Yngwie J. Malmsteen, for the first time in Romania

Artist, composer, multi-instrumental performer who shook the electric guitar up and developed the neo-classical metal, Malmsteen is finally coming to Romania, after more than 20 years of waiting, the organizers of German Quality Entertainment inform.

The gig is due at Sala Palatului (Palace Hall) on May 13, at 20:00. The access is available starting 19:00.

Whimsical but sensible and dramatic at the same time, Yngwie J. Malmsteen is considered a king of the arpeggios, a true innovator of the electric guitar, who, next to legendary Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen, has re-written the book of heavy metal guitarists trough his technique and his baroque-style compositions.

Born in 1963 in Stockholm, Sweden, Malmsteen has been considered a real prodigy at mid 80s, hitting the jack-pot also in 1994 when he released “Forever One” hit.

Heaven Tonight, You Don’t Remenber I’’ll Never Forget, Perpetual, Fire & Ice, Seventh Sign, Forever One, Vengeance, Like An Angel sau Evil Eye are some of his most famous songs that the Romanian audience can listen live on May 13.

Malmsteen released his first solo album “Rising Force” in 1984, which won the Guitar Player Magazine’s award for Best Rock Album. The album was nominated for a Grammy for ‘Best Rock Instrumental’, achieving No. 60 on the Billboard album chart.

In April 1988 he released his fourth album “Odyssey”, which was his biggest album so far, in part due to the success of its first single “Heaven Tonight”.

In late 1988, Malmsteen’s signature Fender Stratocaster guitar was released, making him and Eric Clapton the first artists to be honored by Fender.
