Romania has to refund EUR 1bn to the EU and WB in 2019

Romania has to refund EUR 1.04 billion in 2019 to the European Union, for the stand-by loan agreement signed in 2009, the Finance Ministry informs. Last year the level of refund was of EUR 1.43 billion.

Most of the amount it to be paid to the EU (about EUR 1.03 billion) and the rest to the World Bank.

Romania is to refund to the EU and WB more than EUR 2 billion, according to the loan agreement signed in 2009 with the IMF, EU and World Bank amounting to EUR 19.95 billion.

The last installment to be refunded will be in 2023 of EUR 402.9 million.
