How much chocolate a Romanian is eating compared to a Swiss?

A Romanian is eating 1.5 kilos of chocolate per year on the average, compared to a Swiss who is eating 10 kilos of chocolate per year.

The Romanian chocolate market in ranking among the last ones on consumption, including on the luxury segment.

“However, the trend to choose a high quality chocolate is on the rise, as well as the Romanians’ appetite for this segment,” says entrepreneur Jolyon M’Bei, who controls the M’B Business company that brought Leonidas chocolate brand (the Belgian Royal House’s official supplier) in Romania 15 years ago.

At present there are nine Leonidas stores in Romania, franchised by two official representatives, M’B Business (which franchised three stores in Bucharest, Craiova and Constanta) and entrepreneur Ion Codreanu (since 2009) who controls a store on Dorobanti Avenue in Bucharest and who franchised stores in Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca and Iasi and one in Bucharest.
