Anti-corruption prosecutors on Friday conducted several searches at Hunedoara Energy Complex, the Fiscal Administration in Deva and Termogaz. Searches were conducted at nine locations in Bucharest and Hunedoara and Maramures counties, with one of them being a public institution and the rest are private companies and residences.

In Hunedoara Energetic Complex case the searches are targeting some acquisitions made during 2011-2015. Local media reports that Friday’s investigation is most probably targeting pit coal imports and the sales of carbon certificates.

The investigations came after Energy minister’s control body notified the National Anti-corruption Directorate over several irregularities of CEH activity.

Judicial sources told Agerpres the searches conducted at the Fiscal Administration in Deva and at Termogaz are investigating some profitless contracts regarding the coal import and retrofitting contracts.

Termogaz Company, controlled by businessman Adrian G?rdean is also eyed in “Bute Gala” file. Prosecutors claim that in 2011, Elena Udrea would have asked and received from G?rdean benefits worth 10 percent of the contracts sealed between Termogaz Company and Kranz Eurocenter Ltd. The former minister would have guaranteed the financing would be Oked in due time.

G?rdean’s company would have also sponsored Bute Gala with RON 3m.

Termogaz Company won the auction for modernizing Straja touristic resort, while its owner Adrian G?rdean is also linked to another touristic project developed in Parâng Mountains and which got financing only during Elena Udrea’s term as Tourism minister.
