One Romanian dead, another one injured in car crash in Belgium
A 46-year-old Romanian citizen living in Belgium has died and anothe rone has been injured following car crash on a Belgium national road, Belgian media reported.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) confirmed that one Romanian citizen had died while another one had been injured in the accident, informing it provides consular assistance to the family for the repatriation of the dead citizen.
“Romania’s Embassy in Brussels was informed about the car accident on E35 road linking the Belgian city of Anvers to the Eindhoven, the Netherlands on August 21. The Romanian diplomatic mission was subsequently contacted by the families of two Romanian victims, one was dead and another one injured,” MAE says.
Belgian authorities suspect that the Romanian driver got sick while driving and that was the cause of the death and not the impact of the crash, sources told L’Avenir daily.
The sources also revealed that the Romanian citizen lost control of the car, a Dacia Duster, and fell into a tree.
