“Equilibrium” by Sabin B?la?a recaptured at Artmark

Sometimes controversial, admired but also incriminated, but definitely one of the best sold Romanian contemporary artists, Sabin B?la?a is presenting his only sculpture “Equilibrium” at Armark’s upcoming auction, as a last chemic test of materialization of the eternal human existence. With a remarkable size (1.27×1.89 meters), the sculpture is estimated at EUR 150,000, thus becoming one of the best-evaluated works of the artist. It comes from the collection of an important Romanian businessman.

Next to “Equilibrium”, there is also “Icarus” (estimated at EUR 10,000-15,000), “Nocturne”(estimated at EUR 9,000-14,000) and other ten representative creations are presenting the most remarkable creation period of the artist.

Artmark auction also includes „The Demiurge’s eyes” by Ion Tuculescu, estimated for EUR 40,000-60,000, Alexandru Ciucurencu („Haystacks Landscape” estimated for RON 7,000-9,000 and „Static nature with carnation” at EUR 7,000-12,000), Corneliu Baba („The mad king” estimated for RON 10,000-16,000 and “Market in Venice” estimated for EUR 6,000-12,000) or Victor Man („Apple Tree” estimated for EUR 9,000-14,000 and “Lanscape” at EUR 8,000-12,000). Avigdor Arikha will also be present with “Books” (estimated for EUR 8,000-12,000).

The exhibition can be visited until March 23 and it will be followed by two auctions on March 24 and March 25 due at Athénée Palace Hilton.
