Romania’s team was defeated by Russia 30-27 (17-16) on Friday in Frederikshavn, in its last game in Group D of the World Championship in Denmark.
The match, one without a stake for the two teams, given that Russia was sure of the first place and Romania of the fourth position, has led to a third consecutive defeat for Romania, after 18-26 against Spain and 22-26 against Norway. Even so, Romania has played its best game, shadowed by a fall in the final.
On Monday, in the last sixteen stage, Romania will face the Brazilian team, the reigning world champions, who won Group C after defeating France 21-20 (11-9).
