There is no reason for price increase of the compulsory insurance policies (RCA), after lifting the tariff cap, on May 19, Misu Negritoiu, the President of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) stated, digi24.ro informs.
He explained that all financial indicators show that the current rates would not cause losses to insurance companies. There are also exceptions in the case of passenger transport, where the indemnities paid by insurers increased in the first quarter.
According to ASF data, the MTPL market reached RON 1.06 billion in Q1 2017, a level similar to that recorded in the same period last year (RON 1.07 billion). At the same time, the number of MTPL contracts concluded, expressed in annual units, reached 1.46 million, compared with 1.44 million in the first quarter of 2016, 6-month policies having the largest share.
