Update: #Rezist organizes new protests, in Victoriei Square, one day after the PSD rally. Some 2,000 people chant against thieves

#Rezist has announced new protests to take place on Sunday, June 10, in Victory Square, as of 18.00h, one day after the PSD meeting, which was attended by over 150,000 people.

Some 2,000 people were present in the square, chanting ‘PSD – the red plague’,  ‘We don’t want to be a nation of thieves’ and ‘Dragnea, don’t forget, we are waiting for your book’ (hint to the books written by inmates while in prison – our note).

The protest of Sunday is organised under the slogan “The country is on fire! Light for Democracy” and aims, besides the issue of justice, topics as the pensions pillar II and Rosia Montana.

“In these days, when the white shirt rally has captured the public’s attention, the PSD is inclined to horrors that could leave deep and long-lasting traces. To put down the Romanian state and make the final blow, the PSD-ALDE has attacked on all directions:

  1. Environment: The blocking of Rosia Montana’s insertion on UNESCO’s heritage list
  2. Social: The intention to nationalize the Pensions Pillar II
  3. Economic: The adoption of the Law on the Establishment of the Sovereign Fund, a giant piggy bank for the PSD
  4. Justice: The Constitutional Court itself has violated the Constitution

It’s not just about justice, NGOs, laws. It is no longer about Laura Codruta Kovesi. If the issue of justice seems to have eroded, let’s think about other threats that will explode sooner or later: the pension system will be suffocated, the sovereign fund will be administered on a discretionary basis, we would breathe cyanide. Let’s say Stop!”, Coruptia Ucide (Corruption Kills) community wrote on the Facebook page.

Coruptia Ucide initially announced a rally on Saturday, when the PSD rally was held, but later it has decided to postpone it, in order to avoid potential tensions.
