PENNY Romania has announced today significant changes in the management team, in order to consolidate and align with the strategic objectives for the next period. Starting from January 2024, Dan Crisan, who held the position of National Sales Director of PENNY Romania for the last 10 years, will become the new COO of PENNY | REWE Romania.

Dan Crisan takes over the position of COO of PENNY Romania, replacing Marek Dolezal, who becomes CEO of BILLA Slovakia. With over 20 years of experience in the company, Dan Crisan has been the National Sales Director at PENNY in recent years, successfully leading a team of over 3,000 people nationwide.

“Both Marek Dolezal and Dan Crisan have done their duty excellently in their respective positions, so we decided to leverage their experience at PENNY and offer them new challenges. Marek Dolezal will leave PENNY to join BILLA in Slovakia as CEO. I want to thank him especially for the way he developed the PENNY brand in Romania in the last three years. I wish both Marek Dolezal and Dan Crisan the best of luck in their new positions and I am convinced that they will exceed our expectations,” said Michael Jaeger, member of the REWE International Board.

Dan Crisan will coordinate the Sales, Logistics, Digital Commerce and Sustainability departments, bringing his extensive expertise to a strategic role for the company’s continued development in the Romanian market. “PENNY laid the foundations of retail in Romania, and I am proud to continue this success story in a strategic role for the company alongside valuable colleagues. PENNY people are a fantastic resource of energy and determination. I am convinced that together we will offer exceptional experiences to all our customers through the innovation brought to digital commerce and our contribution to a sustainable lifestyle”, said Dan Crisan, the new COO of PENNY Romania.
