Romanian resident doctor, scholarship student of Stanford’s most prestigious program

Sevda Memet, resident doctor at the Hematology-Oncology and Rare Disease department of the Emergency Hospital in Constanta, has been accepted to take a master degree in business management at Stanford Graduate School of Business, dubbed as the best MBA program in the world.

The Romanian young doctor has received a scholarship part of the Knight-Hennessy program, founded by John Hennessy, the former president of Stanford University and the current president of Alphabet, the company that owns Google, and by Phil Knight, Nike founder.

Sevda is one of the 49 scholarship students selected among 3,600 candidates around the world.

Sevda Memet has graduated magna cum laude the Medicine Faculty of Ovidius University in Constanta.

She has received several international prizes for medical research (she wants to help patients with cancer by drafting the first oncology system in Romania to focus on integrated medicine and advanced genetic studies) and medical entrepreneurship. Sevda also won NASA’ big prize for the project proposing a sustainable colony on Mars, says reporterntv.ro.
