The Presidential Administration has released on Saturday the latest wealth statement of president Klaus Iohannis, which shows that the president’s salary incomes have increased, while the incomes from rents have decreased threefold. The head of state has less money in the account than in the 2016 statement.
According to the last wealth statement, Klaus Iohannis still owns five houses in Sibiu, his birthplace, while a sixth building he lost in court, has been already deleted from the papers since 2016.
The head of state has a bank account worth RON 221,000, on decline compared to last year’s wealth statement, when the account comprised RON 295,000.
Iohannis earned more from his salaries, RON 196,000 compared to RON 133,879 last year. This is due to the GEO on the dignitaries’ wages issued by the Ponta Gov’t in 2015, which increased all dignitaries’ salaries.
The Romanian President kept on earning money from the sale of his books, but the value is lower: this year he has got incomes of RON 34,654, as against RON 82,000 mentioned in the 2016 statement.
The incomes from rent have also dropped from RON 59,960 to 19,017.
The president’s wife, Carmen Iohannis, who is an English teacher, scored total incomes of RON 28,12, compared to RON 22,554 noted down last year.
