About 667,000 foreigners moved to Germany during the first half of 2014, of which 98,000 are Romanians, according to figures provided by the Federal Office for Statistics on Thursday, according to ‘Die Welt’.
The number of immigrants arriving in Germany in the first half of 2014 was of 667,000, by 112,000 more than in the same period in 2013.
“Most foreigners coming to Germany are from Europe,” the German Federal Office for Statistics says. In the first half of 2014, in Germany arrived 98,000 Romanians, 96,000 Poles and 38,000 Bulgarians.
In the cases of Romanians and Bulgarians, it seems this was the effect of removing restrictions on the German labour market from January 1, 2014, the German authorities stated.
